SISQ partner with the Barwa Youth Cricket Club

The Swiss International School is delighted to announce that we have joined with the Barwa Youth Cricket Club to create a community link and develop a sports hub for future development. On Friday 24th November, players and their parents came to our fantastic facilities for the first time. The team were joined by some of our existing students, who already attend our school Cricket ECA, organised by Mr. Stephen Bradley. All of the children took part in a practical session delivered by the club’s highly qualified and experienced expert coaches. The main learning area focus was on fielding of the ball and throwing into the stumps. The next training session will take place at the school on Friday 8th December 5 30 pm.

The club is affiliated to the Qatar Cricket Association and will provide SISQ students with a developmental performance pathway in the sport. The BCC will be the first youth team to host a touring club from Oman to Qatar. The tour will take place in late December with the games being played at the prestigious Al Khor cricket complex. The school has played a major role in ensuring the success of this regional event by the sponsoring of both the Barwa Club uniforms and the final game trophies for both teams.
