SISQ is an IB World School and it started offering DP from September 2019.
The Diploma Programme is the IB’s oldest programme and is hugely respected by universities and employers all around the world. In IB schools, the DP is studied in the final two years of secondary school, Grades 11 and 12. The DP is structured so that students gain both a breadth and depth of knowledge, as well as key skills that will enable them to succeed in higher education and the world of work.
In the Diploma Programme (DP), students study six subjects across different groups, usually three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. They also complete the DP Core-Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)-which ensures they become balanced, reflective learners.
DP assessment includes both internal coursework and external examinations. All components must be completed to earn the qualification, and students who pass Language and Literature in two different languages receive the prestigious Bilingual IB Diploma.
Choosing the right subjects is key to future success. From early on, students are guided on university requirements and subject choices to help them prepare for their academic and career goals.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a rigorous two-year curriculum that balances depth and breadth, preparing students for success in a global context.
Its aim is to provide a well-rounded education, encourage cultural mobility, and promote international understanding through a shared academic experience. The IB Diploma has become a worldwide symbol of academic integrity and promise.
While the programme is demanding, students are supported by experienced teachers and caring tutors who guide their progress and provide help when needed.
At SISQ, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Guided by a rich and diverse curriculum and complemented by a wide range of extracurricular experiences, our students enjoy an education that is both inspiring and fulfilling. We take pride in nurturing happy, curious, and engaged learners, guided by teachers who view the world through their students' eyes.
At SISQ, our counselling philosophy is to guide students toward the university that best fits their academic strengths, personal interests, and future goals. We work closely with students and parents to provide tailored support throughout the application process-offering guidance on course choices, career planning, admissions requirements, essays, interviews, and more. Through one-on-one counselling and schoolwide events, our goal is to ensure every student feels confident, prepared, and supported in taking their next step beyond SISQ.
To support students and parents throughout the university application journey, we collaborate with organizations such as Unifrog, Council of International Schools (CIS), Times Higher Education (THE), and International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC), as well as with individual universities worldwide.
Students and families can access a wide range of guidance and planning tools through Unifrog resources, while additional information, updates, and opportunities are regularly shared on our University & Careers Guidance (UCG) page and weekly electronic notice board, helping everyone stay informed throughout the process.
Our SISQ Student Profile includes valuable information about our SISQ student successes and university placements, as well as important statistics.
BridgeU is a university and careers guidance platform that our students can use to research and apply to university destinations worldwide. Students can create a profile within BridgeU, explore university matches tailored to their personal preferences and build their entire university application within the platform. BridgeU helps our students to focus and organise their university research, and ensures that they stay on top of important deadlines in the university application process.
